Hyenas...

...usually travel in packs. A large pack of hyenas can drag down a full-grown hippo bull, but a bull hippo will crush a single hyena. Or a pair. A lion pride can drag down a Cape buff bull, but one lion is usually no match for a buff. Wild Africa is a microcosm of life everywhere. Within a lion pride, the male rules. The females do the overwhelming share of the hunting, but the pride male always gets first choice on the kill. When a pride male grows old, the young males drive him out to be killed by hyenas and one new male will then dominate. That new dominant male then kills all the cubs sired by the previous master and this causes the females to almost instantly go into estrus. They are promptly bred by the new boss cat. So much for feminism...
